JP's Pet Parlour
About me

Hi I'm Jess and I own JP's Pet Parlour. I have been dog grooming for 10 years and absolutely love my job. I decided I wanted to become a dog groomer whilst completing my Animal care qualification at Holme Lacy College. Once I left college I went on to do my dog grooming training at Golden Paws Grooming Academy in Stone house. This is where I passed 4 exams and was awarded my Certified Professional Groomer qualification. I have a huge passion for my work and for all animals. I also own a small flock of sheep, a tortoise, guinea pigs and a dwarf hamster called Primrose.
I also hold a Canine first aid certificate and I have also been awarded a Level 3 iPET certificate in Dog Grooming and Salon Management.
Herefordshire Small Business Award 2025

In September 2025 I was contacted by Herefordshire Business Awards to say that my business had been selected as a finalist for their Small Business award! I was beyond thrilled to know that my small business that I have started 9 years ago from scratch on my parents driveway had been recognised as a finalised for a business award!
I can not tell you how incredibly proud I was when JP's Pet Parlour was announced the WINNER for the Small Business Award! I love my business and what it has become over the past 10 years but I am forever thankful for all of the support my customers have given me. From working in a small shed on the drive, to my business Unit that I am in now. None of this would have been possible without YOU.

About the Salon
My salon that is located in Ravenswood Court, Rotherwas, Hereford is a safe, calm, and spacious place for your pooch to receive a high quality groom/pamper. The salon is fitted with a high quality AirCon Unit which provides cool air in the summer to ensure your pups are kept cool in the hotter months, and warm air to ensure they are kept warm in the colder months.
We only use high quality products that are free from harsh chemicals, free from palm oil, vegan, and cruelty free. All of our products are from "Peanut and Pickle" and "The Pawdinary". All equipment is of high quality and regularly sharpened and serviced to ensure they are safe and working at high quality. Salon and staff are fully insured by "Protectivity" 1-2-1 appointments are available on request for those who are more nervous or dog reactive. There is no extra charge for this.
In reception you will find some goodies to purchase for your pooches! We sell a variaty of natural treats which are free from wheat, grains and nasties. They are all 100% meat! You will also find a selection of shampoos, dry shampoo and pawfumes for sale. These are all made by Peanut and Pickle who we use as our main shampoo and pawfume supplier.
Inside the salon, you won't find any cages. I fully believe that not all dogs feel comfortable in a cage. So to prevent any unnecessary stress, your dog will not be put into a cage. insted, we have dog points, where your dog can be tied up safely with a soft bed and a fresh bowl of water. Drying cabinets are also not used in the salon. If your dog does not like the dryer, then they will be sent home damp. I do not believe in forcing a dog through something that they do not want, which can again cause unnecessary stress. Drying cabinets can also be very dangerous if fatly or used incorrectly. Judgement, You won't find any judgment in my salon. Has your dog become matted? Sometimes things happen in life and we get a little behind on our dogs grooming and that's okay, we can work together to remove the matting and get back onto a regular grooming schedule.
